verbiciser
New Fun Verbiciser
Youch. I wanted to install my exciting
verbiciser
here on diaryland, but there are issues with that.
So I've put it on my own computer instead. If you happen to be
fascinated by irregular Swedish verbs by all means check it out - it's
a bit rudimentary, but it mostly sort-of works.
Once more, with emotional content
Last week I confessed to
playing with JavaScript,
and the evidence was later made
public.
(NB: I can't take any credit for being clever or funny; I just
tidied the script.)
But why stop there? Why not forge ahead and try to reduce some of the
karmic deficit JavaScript has built up over the years of unwelcome
popups and aggravated advertising?
So I bought the obligatory
O'Reilly book
and set to work on a script to help me learn irregular Swedish verbs.
It's still a bit rough around the edges, but I find it useable so
I've
released it. I am planning to update it; feel free to nag me if
you care.
The original plan was to include it as part of a blog entry, but
diaryland's entry form does
peculiar things to the script. You really don't want to know.
Other (please list)
And all that faffing about has sapped the time and enthusiasm I would
normally devote to composing Deathless Prose for you, Gentle Reader.
But there's a couple of things I need to mention.
Matt recently blogged about the classic manga/anime Astroboy - it
just so happens the complete manga run is now being put out in the
English speaking world by
Dark Horse comics. Volume One is in
comic shops now - go buy!
And the Guardian has
this article
on Aldous Huxley by J G Ballard. I think Ballard is my only surviving
literary hero now that Burroughs, Beckett and Borges are all dead (and,
yes, having a name beginning with B is a requirement, as it happens).
